To limit or control access to something. For example, a formal diagnosis often ‘gatekeeps’ support, meaning self-identified autistics are not allowed access to specific support strategies and environments.
A form of language development that moves from large to small, i.e. from whole, memorized phrases to single words. It’s estimated that between 75-90% of Autistic children develop language through GLP. Another term for it is Natural Language Acquisition (NLA).

Fleeting but powerful moments where everything aligns, resulting in experiencing pure happiness, connection, belonging, and contentment; glimmers are the opposite of triggers.
This is a technique used to calm the mind and body – whether that be physically, mentally, emotionally, or all three – to feel safe. Neurodivergent people make use of this technique to feel sure of where their body is in space.
