Where can I learn more?

The world’s understanding of neurodivergence has evolved extensively over the past 5-10 years, moving away from a medialised perspective focused on external observations to a neuro-affirming perspective that centres internal experience.
This shift has set in motion the beginning of several important changes: reviews of assessment and diagnosis; research hypotheses focused on improving neurodivergent lives; and the development and implementation of support strategies rooted in acceptance.
These is lots more still to learn. This can feel very daunting as an adult responsible for a child’s well-being, especially with so many competing priorities.
We are developing Quick Start Guides with the key information that you need as a starting point. We will include trusted sources and relevant links so that you know where to go for more information when you’re ready for it.
There are also lots of new books, websites, and content creators adding their own perspectives to this quickly-evolving area of learning. You will find trustworthy and affirming materials – things like Creating a Neurodiversity-Affirming Classroom; Neurodiversity-Affirming Schools: Transforming Practices So All Students Feel Accepted & Supported; and Neurodiversity-Affirming Practices in Early Childhood – in our searchable Resources database.
And be sure to check out NeuroWild’s library of amazing resources, such as this one.
